If you have not yet signed up, this is it, folks! On October 21, 2012 at midnight CDT, I close the sign-up. Hop over now and get yourself into the fun.

There are many new swappers this round, and several Newbies have moved to the SWAPPER group! I am delighted that people are still finding the swap, and know that we will still have some trading going on next year.

People who donated newbie sets but were frustrated with lack of acknowledgments, I hear you. BUT, well I have lost count of how many baby and wedding gifts I have given the last few years, some sent cross-country, with no thank you note following. Perhaps it is a sign of the times. I suspect that the gifts were welcomed, and that Postage Stamp Quilts, Color and Personalitygoes for the Newbie gifts as well. Yeah, in the world I grew up in, it would be very rude to not send thanks or at least acknowledge receiving the gift. But life is short and I have other things to do, so I accept that others do not adhere to that and move on. I hope you will too, and continue to donate Newbie Sets.

Are you SEWING yet? Piecing those charms? Moving toward your goal?

If you check your calendars you will notice that November is nearly upon us. That means December is fast approaching. Are you sewing with your charms? SHOW US! After all, that is the point of the swaps, creating something with your lovely little treasures. BE it a mug rug, tote bag, pillow, or king-sized quilflickr 2012 PSQ button and linkt, just do something with them. And then, prove to us that you are working on it! The only way we know is when you post a photo on Flickr and share. If you do not want to set up a Flickr account (easy to do) just email me your photo and I will post it.Needle and thread line copyright The Curious Quilter at WordPress dot comSignature© 2012 by The Curious Quilter, thecuriousquilter.net, maryeoriginals.com. i am all signed up and it would have been nice to hear that the newbies got their little pkgs but keep me sending to them..i love to encourage people to piece quilts and these PSQs are the most fun, simplest ones to make especially to start out with..i am in probably my 50th year of making quilts and have made just about every kind of block there is and here i am—finishing my quilting life with PSQs…i love it….i know we were limited to 12—i can understand that from your standpoint—but send me as many as you want to..i will never in this lifetime use up all my fabric—and i just finished going to yet another quilt shop hop and came home with fabric fabric fabric..LOL..what a fun life..thank you thank you thank you again!!!!!!! i hope to send a picture of my finished top in about 6 weeks!!!!!

  2. I have added a picture of my completed 2″ PSQ for my kingsize bed to Flickr today. I think I may add another row of PS charms to each of the sides before I add a solid purple border so I have more hanging over the side & top of the bed. So will wait for this swap & use what I receive to finish it (I hope.) This time I’m able to send Newbie sets. Love your swap! Thank you for hosting & doing all the hard work that is involved.

Regarding cutting squares, do you want prewashed fabric before we cut the squares? I do not do very small squares, I do like the larger ones, 5, 6, and 10″ squares, If in the future you are having a swap with those sizes, I would be interested to participate. By the way, I just read your article on cutting up squares, and I found it very helpful. — Pat M.
