Postage Stamp Quilt Fun: Swap FAQ’s & Flickr Group

Two Inch Flamingo fabric charms

This fun fabric simply had to be cut into two inch fabric charms. Thanks to Becky for supplying me with this gem.

Do you look at fabric, and envision it cut into tiny tidbits? I know that I do! And it is simply a blast not only to share my obsession with two inch fabric charms, but to get others started on the fun. Recently I was teaching a sewing class, and one attendee had some fun flamingo fabric. It called to me loudly, with its tiny little palm trees and carefully perched birds. Take a look for yourself, it simply begged to be cut into tiny fabric charms. The kind student graciously gave me a chunk of her scraps, cheerfully feeding my addiction. Ah, tropical bliss!

The next charm swap is in April, and you can sign up between April 6-22. I set up a page just for the “swap rules,” and to answer all those frequently asked questions. Comments are welcome and appreciated. As with the January swap, you can swap 1.5, 2, or 2.5 inch charms cut from cotton fabric, please no flannels or homespuns. Find the nitty-gritty info here, and on the upcoming April 6th post declaring the swap signup open.

Something NEW is going on this round! We have a few new quilters interested in joining the fun, but they are stash-less. In my opinion, being stash-less is just no fun, so I am asking anyone with stash who is willing to give some away (not swap) to set up little stacks of 50 charms for Newbies. More info on that is also on the FAQ pages. Thanks to my blog readers who have encouraged me to do this. If you are new to quilting, I hope that you will join in the fun.
