I had to laugh to myself when you said “Tell me what projects you are trying to finish before the holidays!” There’s not enough time to list them all. I have 2 quilts I’m working on, an apron swap, gifts for friends I’ve met thru the swaps, small crafted gifts for Make a Child Smile kiddos I’ve been writing to. Not to mention the girls I work with, and Christmas aprons for the girls in my family to wear at Christmas while we are cooking. I did just finish my Thanksgiving family aprons. With Gods blessing, I will get these done. Oh, did I mention my daughter is graduating from College on Dec 19th and I’m having a huge party at my house for her? Her good friend is also graduating so we are combining the parties and since I live in the country on some land, I am the hostess! I’ll be recooping between Christmas and New Years! But I’m sure there will be a needle in my hand then too! SEW much therapy!

trying to get a quilt of valor done before the holidays and I would like to find a pattern to make some fleece mittens for some gifts. Too many projects not enough time.
I’ve got to get a wallhanging done to be raffled for the Jingle Bell Jog. It’s a run/walk my future DIL helps with to raise money for the local college. In addition to the run the raffle several donated items. I’m also past due on a baby quilt – my great nephew was born about a month and a half ago.

On my “before Christmas” list is: a contract job to quilt 3 memory quilts; a quilt for my granddaughter; one for my sister; and mug rugs for lots of folks. Ack!!! I’m in trouble…… 😉
i’m trying to get pencil cases and pyjama cases done. Also to make cushions from the last lot of pyjamas my mum bought my boys before she died. I want to use the pants to form pockets on them to hold their books and phones when they go to bed

Need to finish a Drunkard’s Path, and 54/40 before Christmas, they are both gifts. Would also like to complete a Zig-Zag 9-patch, but don’t see it happening – still have too many small nine patches to complete. Oh, your scraps are great! Enough to give me a whole new outlook on my quilting, because my stash is looking very sad.
I’m ready to layer a small wall quilt of liberated stars for hand quilting-scraps are great for mismatched liberated patchwork blocks. But most of all, before the Holidays, I’m still sewing for donations to our library’s benefit sale–a sure way to use more scraps.

I am trying to get 2 braid quilts made for Christmas gifts of which I haven’t started yet. First though, I need to get a quilt started for a young man of 21 that was just diagnosed with leukemia. I am picking up fabrics for this qu ilt this weekend – country/western theme. I think that one needs to go out quicker than the braided quilts.

I have a goal to complete the Angel Apron pattern for several friends for that special time of year that is fast approaching 😉 but the wonderful part of this pattern is that it has the Red Brolly Ladies appliqued on the front, but sadly Im running out of scraps, this collection would be perfect to help complete my goal.

I so love other people’s scraps, it’s like taking a peek at someones soul.
1. a Gone with the Wind quilt for my favorite youngest daughter (21 y/o) who would have loved to have been Scarlett in another life. Center medallion is done; working on pieced border.
2. 12 “vintage” looking, machine embroidered placemats with scalloped edges and coordinating “vintage” cloth napkins. Napkins made, placemats made and are being bound.
3. pillowcases for our 3 daughters in medieval princess fabric.
and which need to be sandwiched between hosting Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve *and* Christmas Day. Yes, we are so lucky to be centrally geographically located that we get to host all the big holidays. ::sigh::

I am trying to finish a king-sized hand-quilted Bear Paw quilt for a good friend. I would love to add those scraps to my collection. I have discovered scrap quilting in the last 2 months and can’t stop making them. I just finished a quilt from the Quiltville website that is queen size and is in the process of getting quilted. I have started a lap top for my son that is half done and again scrappy pattern from Sally Schneider’s scrap book. Scrap sewing is almost like sewing with free fabric!

I have 2 crazy patched handkerchief sachets I am desperately trying to finish for my 2 sisterinlaws for christmas.
I need to finish a my postage stamp quilt and my spinning stars quilt and quilt double delight. Then I have a carolina chain and starlight quilt that both need borders. I guess I should get to work on those?
I have twin daughters 33-years old. One never asks for anything. Ever. Well, she saw a photo of a calendar quilt wall hanging. Paper-pieced. Nah…I took two classes and HATED paper-piecing. But she wanted that calendar quilt. And instead of having it as a wall hanging, she wanted it as a lap quilt. So…….I told her I must love her A LOT, and I’ve started on this journey to do this paper-pieced calendar quilt for her. (Now why in the world anybody would want to cover up with a “calendar” is beyond me!). I’ve come out of my “comfort zone” (since I HATE paper-piecing), and have started on these darn monthly blocks. I’ve now completed 9 of them and have 3 to go. I’ll finish them this weekend, and then she has to select the fabric she wants for the sashing, border, backing and binding. And with all the fun I’ve had paper-piecing this thing (NOT!), I’ll probably be very selective before I do another project for someone. Maybe I’d like paper-piecing if i was a smaller size and not this 8-1/2″ X 11″ size I’ve made. Thanks for your generosity in participating in this giveway. Ohh. So much to finish. Have managed a tiny bit of time in front of the sewing machine the last 2 days, and finished some wonderfully simple scrap pin cushions. These are going to 5 crafty friends and 2 nieces.
Have several bags under construction and 3 frame purses, still to be framed. Both are great repositories for scraps.

I’ve had a box of t-shirts from my marathon runner brother-in-law under my bed for 2 years. They recently moved to a condo & my sister writes they would really like that t-shirt quilt for the spare bedroom. Sooooo… I’ve got the shirts cut & fused to interfacing – they are all different sizes so I need to come up with a plan & get going on the sashings. Keeping my fingers crossed that I’ll have it done for a xmas present.

For Christmas, I just have to sew up 14 pillowcases…no quilts to finish this year.
Before Christmas is over, I have to finish a secret Christmas gift quilt and a gift afghan. I also have plans to make three purses for gifts, and a reversible cover for a small table in my living room. Plus, I’ve signed up for the Dream Rocket project, and I have to finish that too. I’m trying to finish place mat sets for my kids (the scraps would really help in finishing them) and I am working on a lap quilt for my oldest (I’m using scraps from all the clothing I made for her when she was little). So you can see that I love scraps. You can have so much fun with them!

I would love a chance to win your scraps! I have so many projects I would like to finish before Christmas…I would like to make 4 nap mats for my nieces and nephews, a baby quilt for my newest niece (who hasn’t joined us yet), a lap quilt for a grandparent, finish 3 other quilts that need to be quilted, and (now after you reading your earlier post about the remembrance ornaments) make 5 ornaments for all of my cousins.
I am trying to finish some little quilt for kids in Brazil, but the economic situation does not give me opportunity for that. So I have some projects to finish but not enough fabrics for that.

I’m making corn bags today to keep feet warm. I’ve also got plans for stockings, maybe some mittens, a skirt for my daughter, an apron for my son, a dress for my little girl, and who knows what else I’ll have time for!

I have about a million things I would like to get finished or that I will most likely start (because I always have way too many projects going on at once-I am very easily distracted!!) but I am hoping to actually get at least a baby quilt for my cousin quilted and bound, a quilt for my baby sister quilted and bound, new curtains and a duvet cover made for my bedroom/bathroom, a Christmas mug rug made (for a swap I am doing as a member of the Atlanta Modern Quilt Guild), a Christmas quilt/item for all of my sisters (I have three) and my mother, grandmother, mother in law and grandmother in law made. (Which I haven’t even started yet…I guess I have a busy month and a half ahead of me!!)

I would love to win your scraps. I have many gifts to make and they all have to come from my stash since I have no money to spend on anything. My favorite projects are the ones where I go through the projects my mother had started before she died, finding a way to finish them, and then gifting them to her grandchildren. We drew names for Christmas this year so I’ve finished up my Christmas projects, but my sister is having her first child this spring so I have all sorts of baby stuff to make including an attic window quilt.
I didn’t even know that one could win such marvelous giveaways; blogs are so much fun. I am new to the sewing world. I have been wanting to sew since I was a little girl. My husband got me a sewing machine recently and I am constantly seeking new projects to play with. My two sons are ten years apart (11 years old and a 12 month old baby), I want to make a blanket for each of them this Christmas. I also want to help them make their own Christmas stockings and ornaments for the tree; starting a new tradition in our family. I want to sew up a tie for my husband and purses for my three sisters and our mom. I have no fabric collections in my drawers currently, but this win would certainly help make me wish list come true for my family. Thanks for allowing me to play. Good luck to everyone. Just started quilting in July. Wanted to make this year the year that I used fabric for Christmas gifts. I’d like to enter your contest…For christmas I am trying to finish a wall hanging…My mother died August 14th of this year in Hospice…I had each one of the nurses sign a block that took care of her …and the center will be a picture of my mom …out of fabric that she wore while in Hospice…my dad said her night gown was soft and pretty …so I am using a parts of it in the wall hanging ….I’m also trying but may not finish a memory quilt for him so he always has her hugging him out of clothes she wore. After 54 years of marriage …He’s having a hard time without her.

I’m a relatively new quilter with few scraps. I want to make a charm tumbler lap quilt for a widow raising her grandson (her son has passed away too) who is facing her third bout of cancer (the 3rd type). She is in my Sunday school class. I am trying to finish a quilt that will go on the back of our sofa that is blocks of hand embroidered red work old time Santa’s that are embellished withe beads and stuff. And then to make some cute scrapbooks for granddaughters that fold up. Besides get our house back in order as we resided and new windows and the job is still 2 weeks out from being completed.
I am trying to finish before christmas a quilt i am doing for a family friend. She had these very old blocks that belonged to a family member and wanted them in a quilt she could enjoy. This will not be a christmans gift, but I have had these blocks for a year and it will feel so good to give this completed quilt to her

I am trying to finish up a “Crabapple” quilt to celebrate my son’s upcoming college graduation on Dec. 15. This is made more difficult by the fact I’ll lose a week’s sewing time when we go on a week-long cruise to Acapulco! (I know, everyone feels SO sorry for me.) After we return I have 3 purses, one pillowcase, an apron, and half a dozen shopping bags to make for Christmas.
If I can just figure out how to sew in my sleep I know I can get it all done …

Im making Christmas tabletoppers and new to quilting. I joined a club and the first quilt we tackled was a very challenging project called “Names of Jesus” which I just finished the top. It taught me patience and got me hooked.

In early September my husband’s cousin visited with his new Sweetie. Lil wanted to see my work, so she got a viewing of my (too) many UFOs. A few weeks ago Bob came back and asked me to make a queen-sized version of my paper pieced NY Beauty wallhanging……he wants to give it to Lil for Christmas!!!! So I’m now knee deep in piles of torn paper piecing scraps and madly trying to fulfill his wish. I sure would prefer it to be your fabric scraps!!! Thanks so much for the chance to win!

I love scraps; most of my stash is scraps. I have to finish a quilt-as-you-go cat quilt for my daughter, which I began many months ago. Oh, and other daughter wants one too – so I’d better start! I just need to find some secret time to work on them, to make a nice xmas surprise.

Trying to get a winter deer quilt (royal blues and chocolate browns) quilt finished for my 14 year old son. He help design the layout. I’ve gotten the most luxurious Chocolate brown fleece to back it with.

My eight year-old daughter and I have been looking at your site for new ideas. She started to sew in 4-H last year and did very well. She started quilting about 2 months ago and is loving it. She is working on a self designed pieced flower pillow to match her new room and is loving it!

I would love to win your “scraps”. I am making towel sets (bath towel, hand towel, washcloth) for my 5 grandkids for Christmas with designs picked by each of them. So far I only know what 2 of them want to be embroidered onto their towels. I have to finish up some quilt squares for a swap that need to go by the end of November. And of course there are some other items such as ornaments, embroidered tp and hand towels for some xmas gifts. And I’m sure I will think of some other items I would like to gift. I will be finishing a tree skirt that I started last year, a tea cozy, table runner, and a baby quilt that is VERY overdue. Why is it that other people’s scraps always look more interesting than our own.
